How is your buyback price better than what I'd recover from an auction?
Auctions sell to the highest bidder on the day, often at a steep discount because bidders factor in their own profit margin. EKAM pays based on the live market rate at the moment of valuation, with no bidding margin and no auctioneer's commission. In practice this typically means 18–35% more in your hand.
Do you charge any fee for the rescue service?
No. There is no consultation fee, no recovery commission, no documentation charge, and no processing fee. The buyback price you accept is the price applied — every rupee accounted for in writing.
How quickly can the entire process be completed?
Most cases finish end-to-end within a single working day, provided documents are ready and the auction is not within 24 hours. For very urgent cases we operate emergency same-day desks at major branches.
Will my family or community be informed?
Never. The entire process is confidential. We do not publish your name, do not list ornaments online, and do not share any details with third parties beyond what is strictly required to settle the dues.
What if the holding institution refuses to release my ornaments?
This is rare. Once we present the settlement payment by demand draft or RTGS, release is a contractual obligation. Our team handles the coordination and, if needed, escalates through legal counsel at no extra charge to you.
Can I sell only part of my pledged gold?
Yes. We can structure the buyback to clear your dues fully while returning some ornaments to you for self-retention — provided the surplus value supports it. This is decided during valuation.
What if my ornaments contain stones or diamonds?
Stones are carefully removed in your presence using non-destructive techniques. They are weighed, packed, and returned to you. You are paid for the net gold weight only.
Do I get a written guarantee on the buyback price?
Yes. Once you accept the indicative quote, we issue a written price-lock valid for the same working day. The market may move, but the locked price is honoured.
How do I know the testing is fair?
Every test happens on a transparent counter in your full view. You receive a printed report covering each method used, readings obtained, and how the final purity figure was reached. You may bring your own assayer for a parallel reading at no objection from us.
What happens to the gold after you buy it?
Purchased ornaments are securely transferred to our certified vault, refined into 24-karat investment-grade gold, and reintroduced into our digital gold inventory. Nothing is resold as second-hand jewellery.
Is there any tax I need to pay on the surplus?
Capital gains tax may apply depending on how long you held the gold. We provide a complete buyback summary that your tax advisor can use directly. We do not deduct tax at source unless legally required.
